One man’s treasure
is another man’s junk.
And this statement rings true for this garage sale toy I found. It looked super cute in the big box. The material was super clean and everything seemed to be in good shape. I didn’t, however, take it out of the big cardboard box to inspect it before I handed over $15.
Lots of cute stuff and even a baby was included in the set.
I decided to google it to see if I could figure out what in the world this thing was.
I removed all the fabric and threw it in the washer (even though it looked super clean, I still don’t like getting things from other houses, you never know where it’s been) and I didn’t really pay attention on how to put it back together.
Anyway, when I googled it. It came up with some pictures, that again looked really, really cute. However, all of the comments were, “JUNK! JUNK! JUNK!” “This thing fell apart as soon as I got it out of the box.”
And, I’ll hafta say, I totally agree. It’s the flimsiest toy set I’ve ever seen. To top it all off, it was listed on-line anywhere between $49-$69. Those sets had a few more things to them though, like a stroller, baby walker, little dishes — it made them into a 20-25 piece set, where as mine was only a 10-piece set and I definitely didn’t need another baby stroller around this house! But, seriously, $50 for this!?! Boy would have I been just as mad as the commenters if I had bought this thing brand-new!
This is Maya’s favorite part of the whole set. The baby and the swing. Which is exactly what I knew she’d love about it. It’s flimsy, but she still has fun pushing the baby back and forth and I guess she hasn’t broken it yet.
Precious Gems Baby Doll Set — totally not worth the money! The guy at the garage sale made it out to be a “treasure” I had found. Guess I got a good salesman.
