I’ve been wanting to try frozen fruits for a while, so now it was on to blueberries. I really have no idea what a bag of frozen blueberries cost, I always just have some. Maya loves them for a snack and what kind of mom would I be to not let her eat fruit. (;
So, here’s our LARGE bag of blueberries. I didn’t use them all, I actually just did a cup of them, I didn’t want to waste too many if they didnt’ turn out, or if Maddox ended up hating them.
Boil some water, then dump in the blueberries.
Nice, they immediately turned the water purple. I let them boil for about 6 minutes, then they got really soft.
Then I reserved some of the blueberry water.
Next I put some ice into my colander. I’m not sure if this is necessary, but I wanted to get the show on the road.
Blueberries and ice.
Once they’re cooled, dump the blueberries into your blender.
Now add some water. I think I ended up using like 1/4 a cup. You can use more or less.
So pretty. I wanted to add some ice drink it in a smoothie.
I was kinda concerned Maddox wouldn’t like them because of the texture.
It only made 6 cubes, but it’s plenty since I just wanted to introduce them to him anyway. Cover with foil and stick in the freezer. I left mine overnight.
Yum! I know that Maya would have loved these on a popsicle, so next time I make these, I’m going to blend a little extra for her.
And, Maddox ended up loving them. I had several people tell me he probably wouldn’t like them, so to mix them with another fruit. But he shocked me, he loved them, texture and all. Yay!
