Counting calories makes me hungry
So, it’s 2 days before Thanksgiving and I’m trying to lose a few LBs (pounds, inches, fat… you know, get a little healthier).
I’d like my clothes to fit a little looser, or heck even fit into a few of my cuter pre-Maddox outfits. Or heck, I have some pre-Maya (yikes, 4 years ago) outfits in the waaaay back of the closet that I’d like to get back in to.
I’m sick of wearing the same rotation of dress clothes at work. And, I’m not about to buy new clothes… dammit, I’m going to lose this weight. I promise.
What? I’ve said that before? This time I’m serious.
And I’m not gonna get on one of those fad diets. I’ve tried them. They don’t work. Well, I did try this no-salt diet a week before I found out I was pregnant with Maddox. I lost 5 lbs. It was sweet. And, crazy thing is, I actually kept it off, you know, until the 12th week of pregnancy and then well… I was carrying a baby, I got hungry.
And, I’ve done the counting calories thing. Now, I’m not bashing this, I do think this is a good way to tell how much you’re eating, but again, it’s not for me. Counting calories makes me hungry. I tend to eat crappy foods if I’m low on calories for the day, because well, I have a set amount I can eat.
Wanna know what I’m doing this time?
I’m actually watching what I’m eating. Crazy concept, huh?
And, I’m trying Preston’s approach of cutting out my “second dinner” or, you know, not snacking after dinner. That, my friends, is my worst habit. Hell, Preston did that and lost 20 pounds! Whoa, if he can do it. I can do it.
And, one more thing, I’m also trying to eat a healthier snack. If I’m hungry (or, if I think I’m hungry) I grab some almonds. Ew, right? What am I some sort of health freak? Nope. As a matter of fact I use to hate almonds. Or, at least I thought I did. Then I found a brand I liked, Blue Diamond Whole Almonds. They are so good. Not hard and dry like I remember almonds being.
First week in on this, shall we call it (I think we shall), lifestyle change… And, I’ve lost 2.4 lbs. I’m rockin this.
