Homemade baby food
When Maya was little I thought about making her own baby food, then I decided it would be too much work, since I was working mom anyway. I was also afraid of screwing it up and making her sick, so I just bought the prepackaged baby food. It wasn’t cheap, but it certainly was convenient.
Now, every time I went to the store to buy Maddox’s food I would think, “man, this is so expensive for such a little amount of food.” He’s been on solids for around 2 months now and just recently I’ve been seeing more and more blogs about making your own baby food. I decided to take a look and it seemed so easy to do. I mean, super easy, how could I screw this up? And it was so much cheaper. A little jar of baby food was around 44 cents a jar (for 2 oz)! I could buy a bag of carrots for 88 cents, I mean that had to make more than 4 ounces of baby food, right?
So today I decided I was going to give it a try. Be sure to watch for my upcoming posts featuring: Adventures in Baby Food.
First attempt: carrots.
