I heart me my bacon and egg wafflewich

Really could this picture get any cuter? I mean, I’m not one to brag about my own stuff here, but this is cuuuute. A heart-shaped egg sandwiched between two heart-shaped waffles. Come on now.

And, this would have never been possible without this rockin’ heart shaped waffle maker. It’s awesome.

I’ll admit I made fun of Preston when I found it in his kitchen cabinets 11 (maybe 12) years ago. We were dating and I was snooping. At first I thought it was a Belgian Waffle Maker and was shocked he would even have anything like this. However, when I decided to actually use it, I realized it was a heart-shaped waffle maker. Ahahaha! I was like 19 at the time. And, what was a 22-year-old guy doing with a heart-shaped waffle maker!

Preston’s exact words, “I got it from my mom. What? Are you making fun of my mom?”

And, no, I surely wasn’t. I was making fun of my 22-year-old boyfriend with a heart-shaped waffle maker. I love my mother-in-law.

So, if you’re curious about how to make this awesome wafflewich. It’s easy:

Spray a good amount of cooking spray onto a piping hot waffle iron. Crack the egg into a cup and scramble up with a fork. Dump the scrambled egg into two sides of your waffle iron. If it’s a bigger waffle iron than this, you might only get one egg per slot. Next, pour your waffle batter into the other two sides. Close and cook until egg and waffle are done.

Booyah! Layer it: waffle, egg, (bacon <– cook up on the stovetop or in the micro), egg and waffle. Perfect wafflewich.

Don’t forget to garnish your plate with some berries and strawberry syrup (and maybe a nice mint leaf).

I heart me my bacon and egg wafflewich.
