Snowman Cheese Ball
So, I was browsing pinterest and I came across this cuuute snowman cheese ball. How clever! I’d show you the link, but well, Pinterest isn’t cooperating. Boo.
I thought I could totally make that! And, so I did using my sister’s friend Dela’s recipe! Here’s the downloadable recipe card: CheeseBall
Here’s what you’ll need:
4 – 8 oz packages of cream cheese (I used fat free)
1/2 – green pepper, diced very small
1/2 – onion, diced very small (I used a yellow, it was on sale)
2 – packages of Budding Original Corned Beef (you can find this in the lunch meat section)
Garlic powder, for sprinkling on top
Ingredients for making it into a snowman:
2 twisted pretzel rods (for the arms)
Raisins (for the eyes, mouth and buttons)
Baby carrot (for the nose)
Peel from a cucumber (for the scarf)
Ritz crackers (for the hat)
That’s it. Seriously, easiest ingredients ever.
Get a large bowl, dump in the four packages of cream cheese. Next, finely dice the onions, green peppers and corned beef. Throw on top of the cream cheese and mix it up. I washed my hands, rolled up my sleeves and went after the mixture with my bare hands. Worked quite well, except it was sooo cold.
You can make this the night of the party or a couple days ahead of time. If making ahead of time, be sure to wrap in plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator in a closed container.
Before the party starts shape into two balls, one larger ball for the body, a smaller for the head. Place on a pretty platter, sprinkle with garlic powder, and decorate your snowman.
As the night went on I found my snowman slowly began to melt…
I think this was the result of the fat free cream cheese. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.
I think I’ll definitely be making another cheese ball snowman, just to see if I can make him cuter.
