Tator Tot Casserole
Here’s my simple go-to casserole when I can’t figure out what else to make:
What you’ll need: 1 lb ground beef (mine was frozen, you’ll need to defrost), 1 can of green beans, 1 can of cream of mushroom (normally I use cream of chicken, or whatever cream soup I have on hand), 1/2 cup milk, shredded cheese (original recipe calls for 8 slices of american cheese, I like the shredded better), salt, pepper and tator tots.
After I defrosted the meat, I decided to add some minced onion into the meat before I browned it. PS, the original recipe calls for onions, but I always forget to buy them so I usually just substitute with my dried minced onions. (;
Drain half of the can of green beans. You can drain it all if you’d like. I’ve done both.
Add green beans to browned meat.
Add cream of mushroom soup.
1/2 cup of milk (I just measure about a half a can).
Pour into a glass 9×13 dish.
Pour on shredded cheese to cover.
Toss on the frozen tator tots.
Here’s what it looks like. Bake in a preheated 375º oven for 25-35 minutes, until tots are hot and the rest is bubbly.
Mmmm, hot, crunchy and bubbly.
