So I had the white cake mix, strawberry jello and frozen strawberries all set out and ready to make a cake when I got home with the kids after work today. It’s Preston’s 33rd birthday today and he was gonna get a strawberry cake. Only problem was I’d never made a strawberry cake. Around lunchtime I decided I better call my mom to make sure I didn’t screw it up.
Me: So, I’m making a strawberry cake for Preston’s birthday, but I don’t know how many frozen strawberries to put in there.
Mom: Why don’t I just make the cake for Preston, you can bring the kids out here to play.
Me: Really? I mean, I can make it.
Mom: Yeah, but this way you don’t have rush around after you get off of work. I’m not doing anything today, I’ll do it.
Yep, I do indeed have the best mom in the world!
When we got out there she said to Maya, ”I didn’t frost the cake yet, because I thought you would like to help me frost it for your daddy’s birthday!” I was really excited to hear that because I was going to have her help me with the cake. It was like my mom could read my mind. Yea!
So the cake was made by Maya and my mom. Which is very fitting, considering Preston always told me he married me for my mom’s cooking. (;
Happy 33rd Birthday to my awesome husband!
