Oh my! I’m just about out of my second trimester (25.5 weeks pregnant to be exact) and all I’ve been craving is sweets! I certainly do not remember then when I was pregnant with my little girl. I guess this little boy will be filled with sugar and spice and everything nice. (;
While at the grocery store I saw these. And who am I to pass up a “New!” kind of candy?
My first real problem with the Starbursts was that it listed the flavors but didn’t tell me which colors matched to which flavors. I thought I had it all figured out:
Kiwi-Banana (green, of course for kiwi)
Lemon-Limeade (yellow, for lemon)
Cherry-Splash (red, for cherry)
Strawberry Watermelon (pink, for strawberry)
Funny thing was I loved the yellows, but I really wanted the ones that tasted like banana, so I kept eating the greens and thinking, “these don’t really taste like banana.”
After three-fourths of the yellows were gone I realized, “Hey! Those are the banana ones, no wonder I like them so much!”
Then I started feeling guilty for giving my unborn child so much sugar (and well, I thought I might be having my glucose test at my OB visit the next day), so I gave the rest of the bag of Starbursts to my awesome co-workers. I told them as long as they didn’t judge me for eating most of the yellows, they could eat them all up.
So the point of this post? Well, really, not a big one (it is going in my Ramblings section), but there is a lesson here: looks can be deceiving… don’t judge a book by it’s cover… Yellow may not always turn out to be lemon.

Haha! Didn’t you look at the bag? The first thing I saw was the banana on it! Of course, I love banana stuff. These sound yummy. I’m currently trying to wean myself off of a Jolly Rancher kick. And I don’t think replacing sugar with sugar is a good first step.
Shoot, did my post not make sense. That’s the kind I wanted, the bananas. But I couldn’t figure out that the bananas were in the yellow and not in the green. The Kiwi really threw me off and the lemon-limeade…
