Thank you for
When I was growing up I remember always writing thank you notes for birthday and Christmas gifts. And, basically anytime anyone gave me anything. It was the polite thing to do, or so my mom told me. I remember her saying, “don’t just write “thank you,” write “thank you for.” They took time to pick out something special, so you can take time to write it out. And, then tell them what you really loved about it.”
Or, at least I think she told me that.
Sometimes I think I may have dreamed up half of my childhood. It was rockin’. Really, I promise, I’m not just saying that. I don’t remember anything bad about it. Except for when my sisters and I would fight and Mom would make us go sit in our room and hold hands. That was the worst! Torture, I tell you! And, I’m totally doing that to my kids.
Annnnyway. Thank you cards are nice.
I have always liked writing them out and I’ve done a pretty good job up until this year. I missed Christmas and birthdays for my kids and I still feel guilty about it.
But, now since Maya’s doing an awesome job writing, I can have her write her own. All I have to do is help her spell the words.
And, maybe, teach her about word spacing. And, to remember to always put the person’s name at the top of the card. I forgot that part. (;
