An end in sight

Finally, there seems to be an end in site to this whole “buying a short sale.” Ten and a half months of waiting and my realtor called me yesterday morning with:

Realtor: I think we may be closing the end of the month.

Me: Like the end of July?

Realtor: No, the end of this month, June!

Me: REALLY!

Realtor: Does the lender have their newest appraisal for the house?

Me: No.

Realtor: Well, then it might be 30 days out before you can get closed.

Me: Well, no the loan lady told me all they really need is 7 business days to close a loan. I’ll call her right now! Technically there’s 8 business days before the end of the month.

So, I called her and she said we had enough time if everything worked just right, we could be closed on June 30th! I just had to get in there and pay for the appraisal so they could get that ordered.

Yipee. Ten and a half months of waiting and then everything is rushed together in a week. We thought there would be no way we would close in June, and get the second time home buyer’s credit of $6500, so we just cut our loses and hoped for the home sometime in August. That’s all we really wanted anyway — some closure!

Here’s hoping everything goes as planned, even though everyone says it never does.

Well, to be fair, so far nothing’s gone as planned. So, EVENTUALLY things WILL go as planned. I think this time it will! <3
