It’s been 12 days since I ran last. My foot/ankle/something started hurting after my awesome 5 mile run, 12 days ago. I did some reading and it sounded like I pulled my achilles tendon? Sounded scary, so I got nervous. I’ll write more about that later.
It’d been feeling much better, so I decided today was the day to test it out. I was pumped!
I started with my warm-up walk and things felt okay, my foot felt tight, but I figured it would. When my playlist started I felt my adrenaline start flowing. I started into a jog and it wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t even five minutes into my run and my side started hurting and so did my foot. The whole foot.
It’s like I’d never run before.
And, I’m definitely not a professional, so I don’t know what’s normal and what’s not normal. Do I continue? Do I stop? Who knows? Preston told me before I left, to play it safe. So I stopped. I continued to walk to see if anything got better. It felt okay, so I tried running again and the same thing happened. Ugh, really?!
I was bummed.
I finished the rest of the distance home in a quick walk. Then, I opened the door, defeated. This stinks! How many weeks did it take me to build up to running 5 miles and I’ve lost everything in a matter of 12 days?
The good news was my foot wasn’t throbbing. And, now as I type this, it feels better than it has in 12 days. Preston thinks maybe it’s just a normal runner’s joint pain. Apparently that happens when you start running long distances. It’s a lot of strain on those poor little things. (:
Sunday I’m gonna yoga this shit out and try to run through it. I’m not losing everything I’ve worked so hard for!

First of all: that’s what she said.
Second: did you get that foot pain pose I sent you?
Third: you can do it! Don’t give up! I was telling Niki how great you’ve been doing. She’s in the same boat. A little cold and she’s way behind now.
Lol. Oops, perfect, twss. I just pinned it, I didn’t realize it had a picture on pinterest. Perfect. Doing it right now. I found five other stretches I did last night and my foot is feeling so much better! Thanks!
