My two-year old loves to sit on the toilet, but I just can’t seem to get her actually go on there. Problem is she thinks she’s actually going. She’ll get her toilet paper, do that whole business, sit for a while and tell me she’s done.
I try to be supportive, and ask her, “Are you sure you’re done?” She always says, “Yes.” Then I tell her, “but you didn’t even go.” She’ll give me her little stubborn, red-headed look and say, “Yes, Mommy, I did!”
I got a lot of good suggestions at work about it:
Lady 1: You could give her a little treat if she goes
Me: Yeah, already have the M&Ms in the cabinet, she’s never actually gone so I can’t start that.
Lady 2: You need to get her some pretty panties.
Lady 1: Yes! And she needs to go to the store and pick them out herself.
Lady 2: Dora underwear, that’s what worked for my little boy, he definitely did not want to pee on Dora! I mean, yes, he was wearing pink Dora underwear, but now my husband and I have pulled them out of the underwear rotation.
So, that’s what I think will be going on at my house this weekend: Toddler underwear shopping and pee on the floor. Sounds like the perfect Father’s day for my husband.

Also, a little shout out to my Bloss: Thanks for getting me over my blogging constipation (another tie into the title). He gave me a pep talk about, even if it’s a crappy post, it’s still a post. “Don’t worry, be crappy.” So, for all of you having blogging constipation, poop or get off the pot!

And you didn’t even need a treat.
